The Society for the Advancement of Research and Teaching at the Walther Schücking Institute for International Law

The Society for the Advancement of Research and Teaching at the Walther Schücking Institute for International Law was founded as a registered association on 17 May 1978. The Society supports the WSI in undertaking its activities.

A non-profit organisation, it uses its resources primarily for the advancement of young academics (above all in printing subsidies for very good dissertations) as well as for Institute publications. Furthermore, the Society supports the public lecture series on various aspects of international law that takes place every year, and the moot court teams of the Law Faculty of the University of Kiel. In this way the activities of the Society benefit not only the Institute but also the Law Faculty and the public as a whole.

The Society is open to all those who want to support research and teaching at the WSI. Businesses and institutes are also welcome to become members. The membership fee is tax deductible.

In addition to regular membership there is the possibility of becoming a sponsoring member. In addition to invitations to WSI events, sponsoring members receive the yearly report in which they will be thanked by name.
