WSI Library

The Institute is proud to have one of Germany's oldest and largest university libraries for international law. Housing more than 135,000 volumes, it is among the largest department libraries at the University of Kiel. The section on international law constitutes the centrepiece of the Library, while sections on European and constitutional law complete the collection. Along with the United Nations Depository Library, the Library offers excellent research conditions for scholars, students, and other interested academics. Its extensive inventory and renowned reputation attract visiting scholars and other international guests from all over the world.

Within the two reading rooms, students and other members of the university can connect their personal notebooks to the university network while external guests may access the Library’s electronic catalogue, databases, and e-journals via two computers located in the first reading room. A photocopier is available using the Campus Card system. Since the Library is a reference library, books may not be borrowed.

The Library staff will be glad to help you on weekdays from 9.00-16.00 hours with any questions you may have.

If you need books from the ‘Franz-Kahn-Bibliothek’, please contact the Library staff.
