Student job: German Yearbook of International Law

The German Yearbook of International Law (GYIL), founded as the “Jahrbuch für Internationales Recht” in 1948, is edited by the Walther Schücking Institute for International Law. The yearbook’s Editorial board is composed of the three directors of the Institute (Prof. Dr. Andreas von Arnauld, Prof. Dr. Kerstin von der Decken, and Prof. Dr. Nele Matz-Lück), the Assistant Editor (Dr. Kenneth Chan), and three student assistants (“studentische Hilfskräfte”). We are looking for one student assistant to join our team, beginning on 15 October 2021 (27 hours per month).

The appropriate candidate must be a team player, and ideally have a passion or interest in some aspect or area of public international law. The student assistant will primarily have editorial responsibilities, specifically in the correction of footnotes in accordance with the GYIL’s style guide. Therefore, the candidate must have a critical and meticulous eye for detail, and be confident reading and writing in English to a high degree of proficiency. Further leadership opportunities within this position are possible for the appropriate candidate.
